Today is the birthday of Hollywood actor Robert Mitchum.  Robert Mitchum helped define movie acting with his low-key but intense style.  Mitchum was a true outsider and it’s hard for us to imagine just how difficult living that life was, back in the conformist 1940′s and fifties.  I am a fan of Mitchum’s work, he was great movie actor and a smart man.  I have not had time to pen a long piece so here is a link to a long review I wrote about Lee Server’s brilliant biography of Robert Mitchum “Baby, I dont care”.
